Rick Braun Biography E-mail

Rick Braun Rick was born and raised in Fontana, CA and later graduated from Fontana High School, FoHI. He was raised alongside his 5 brothers and sisters by his mother and father. Rick learned the American Work ethic at a very young age as it took every penny his father made at the local steel mills to support Ricks' family. From the time he was young, Rick always had a love for cars, and racing, right up until today.

As a teen, he worked at a local gas station doing small repairs on customers vehicles. Shortly thereafter, he moved on to work at a body shop in Redlands making mechanical and cosmetic repairs on the vehicles his boss would take to auction. His next step would further expand his knowledge of cars by working at B&G Auto in Fontana as a salesperson.

It was at this small car lot he would first meet Bob Delozier, hitting it off and soon becoming friends. As this friendship grew, the notion emerged that they would be a great team at their own car lot. After many discussions they decided to just go for it. Rick sold his race car to raise money to finance the opening of R&B Auto Center. While Bob took the reigns and maintained the business side of R&B, Rick maintained inventory and preparatory reconditioning of the cars for resale. They started the lot carrying Pintos, VW’s, Toyota Corollas and Chevy Vega's. After purchasing vehicles, Rick would spend his days ensuring the proper running of each automobile. He wanted his customer to be happy with their decision, but most importantly he wanted them to have the piece of mind that this vehicle would be dependable transportation for many years to come.

His excellent work ethic and the many hours he spent putting into building the dealership gave him great pride and feeling of satisfaction. He enjoyed seeing the people he was raised with come to him for quality automobiles. Many times it seemed like a big reunion on the dealership. Rick was proud to be the owner of a small local business and giving back to the local community through sponsoring several events.

Soon business was going crazy and Rick could not keep up with finding vehicles, doing repairs, clean up and preperation of each car for sales. He soon hired his brothers Keith and Dustin, and his father Dick to help with acquiring pre-owned vehicles and sales of already purchased vehicles.

Rick decided that they needed to buy the house that was on the bordering property of their small lot. The boys eventually did this and soon began expanding the dealership to encumber the entire property. Rick Braun had realized the need for support of customers after the sale and soon planned a full service center. He was hands on in every detail of this department, from hiring good mechanics to meeting with the customers who required service. He also decided that he would service the community even though they did not purchase their vehicles at his dealership. He saw the need for affordable repairs for the locals and knew that if he provided this when they needed to purchase new or second vehicles – they would remember him.

Rick soon felt secure in his hiring of help to stock and service the vehicles for R&B Auto Center and began taking some time to himself. He even began racing cars again. He met his wife Dyan and they soon married. For many years they even raced together with his brother Dustin. Rick began having children and soon his family grew to four; Marina, Shelby, Grant and Tyson, who accompany him to the dealership often. This sparked Ricks Interest in the wellbeing of the local children and began donating to several childrens funds. He is proud to show how his hard work has paid off to his kids. His father, mother, brother and sister continue to work for Rick to this day – hence the “we treat you like family” motto.

Rick loves giving to his community, especially the sports teams from the local communities, including high school football teams and adult softball leagues. He does not like being in the public eye and gets embarrassed being called to speak but enjoys that he has the ability to help his community.
